The most powerful and practical way to deal with failures that I learned recently...
Some days back, I received my exam marks that were way below my expectations. It felt awful and hurt a lot.
I was pretty scared about my average going down. These thoughts were haunting me, and I couldn’t focus on anything else.
So, I had no other choice but to find a way to get rid of these thoughts. I was lying on my bed and thinking about this entire situation. After some time, I had many thoughts regarding the positive takeaways/ learnings from this whole situation going on in my head. For example, I got to know my mistakes. I understood how I could score better, etc.
I was always a very self-conscious person. And so, I was noticing how my feelings were changing with changing thoughts.
Once I started focusing on the learnings, I immediately felt great and motivated to do well next time and focus on other things.
This was the moment I realized that thoughts shape your feelings.
To sum it up, whenever you feel low due to some failure, try looking at the positive side of learning from the situation. You will immediately feel good.
I know this sounds tough, but it is the most practical and long-term solution to deal with failures.
